Methodology and privacy

Every number on this page is an aggregate query over the live database — counts grouped by trade and region. No sampling, no estimates, no third-party data.
Worker figures include every registered profile regardless of visibility setting, because a count reveals nothing about a person. Cells with very small numbers are still shown as counts, never as names or locations more precise than a region.
Job figures count postings with status “open”. Postings expire automatically and employers must confirm they’re still hiring, so stale ads don’t inflate demand.
“Experienced” means 3+ years. “Looking” means looking now, available soon, or an apprentice needing hours. Definitions match the matching formula.
